Rolling Thunder to Begin on December 3rd

Bowling will be back on free to air TV in Australia from Sunday 3rd December, when The Australian Bowling Cup – Rollin’ Thunder airs on 7mate.

The newly developed tournament will air across Australia from 10.30am to 11.30am on seven consecutive Sunday’s.

Featuring two matches per broadcast, the tournament will showcase 16 of Australia’s best bowlers including World number one, Jason Belmonte in a baker style doubles format which will see both female and male bowlers feature in 8 teams, competing in 13 matches, culminating in the grand final on 14th January to determine the overall winners.

With the tournament filmed at Tenpin City in Sydney in front of a live audience, the new look TV show is set to showcase the sport to thousands of households across regional and metropolitan Australia.  It will feature interviews with bowlers and promotions for the sport, including TBA’s new junior participation program – Bowl Patrol.

2017 will mark the first year of an agreement between the Independent Bowling Centres of Australia (IBCA) and 7mate which will see the sport broadcast on free to air TV until 2019.
