Final Ranked Event of 2018 to determine Youth Rankings Winners

Thursday, November 01, 2018

The Youth Champion of Champions will mark the final national ranked event for 2018, when it kicks off on Saturday at ZONE BOWLING Richlands.

The two day tournament will provide the last opportunity for 2018 rankings points and the 2018 youth rankings winners will be decided this weekend.

At the top of this yearís male youth division is 2017 Youth Champion of Champions Ė Blayne Fletcher.  Fletcher, who is based in Brisbane, will be looking to finish a successful year on a high following on from winning a Silver medal at the World Youth Championships in the US and taking out the Sydney Youth Cup earlier in the year.

The 2017 Youth rankings winner will have to battle it out with Jordan Dinham to decide who the best male youth bowler is in 2018.  2018 has been a break out year for Dinham who has won national ranked tournaments on the junior, youth and adult circuits.

With Fletcher leading the rankings by 37 points, Sunday afternoon will have more than just a national ranked title on the line and when you add in Matt Clague, Kyle Annetts and Nathan Shoesmith it could be one of the most exciting finishes to a youth ranked event.

In the girls division, four bowlers competing this weekend could be crowned, the best female youth bowler in 2018 if they can finish in number one place on Sunday afternoon.

Currently sitting on top of the rankings is Emma Stephens on 263 points.  Stephens took out the Werribee Youth Cup at the start of the year and is 28 pins ahead of next best Jodie Kos.

With 100 rankings points added to the winnerís total on Sunday, SA Youth Masters winner Emma Williamson (230) and Chloe Jones (203) are still within reach of finishing the year as the best in their division.
