This is the fourth edition of the event that began in 2023.

The field at a glance

With entries opening in December 2025, there are two qualifying squads of approximately 15 bowlers each vying to qualify for the Top 16 second stage.

A great mix of age groups are registered to contend, with representatives coming from all divisions such as junior, youth, adult and senior.

Three different winners have won the trophy in the history of the event. The 2025 champion from Victoria, Bek Martin returns to defend her crown to begin the season.

Format

Competitors will bowl multiple games across the two-day event format, with total pinfall determining standings and placements.

All bowlers will bowl 8 games in stage one with the Top 16 advancing to the second day stage 2, before the top 8 will finish things off in the Matchplay finals to determine the champion.

As with other nationally ranked tournaments, maintaining consistency across sessions and adjusting to lane conditions as they develop will be key to strong finishes. Performances here influence each bowler’s position on the national ranking list as the 2026 season unfolds.

The Suncity Women’s Open competition runs from Saturday 7 February to Sunday 8 February with multiple squads scheduled across both days.
