Sixteen games are done. Five remain. And after another absorbing day of team bowling at Suncity Tenpin on the Sunshine Coast, the 52nd TBA President’s Junior Shield is heading into a final day that could go any number of ways.

🌅Morning Session (Games 9-12)

Boys Division

Victoria maintained their grip on top spot in the morning session, adding another 23.0 points to their overnight lead. Behind them, the chasing pack shuffled – South Queensland moved up a place to second with 23 points of their own, overtaking South Australia in the process, while Victoria 2 climbed to fourth and North Queensland dropped to the foot of the table.

Girls Division

The girl’s division offered no such movement – Victoria held steady at the summit following the morning session with all positions on the table remaining unchanged.

☀️ Afternoon Session (Games 13–16)

Boys Division

The afternoon delivered the day’s most dramatic swing. South Queensland’s boys put together a huge performance across the session to climb from third at the start of the day all the way to the top of the male division standings after Game 15 – a remarkable turnaround. But with one round remaining and Victoria coming up against a bye, the automatic maximum of 7 points snapped the lead straight back.

Heading into the final day, just 1.5 points separates the top two – with South Queensland right on Victoria’s heels and the rest of the field refusing to go away. The boy’s title is anyone’s to claim on Saturday.

Girls Division

Victoria 1 have been the model of consistency since the opening game, and Day 2 only reinforced it. The Victorians extended their overnight lead of 3 points out to 12 by the close of play, with South Queensland the only team keeping pace as the pair pulled clear of South Australia and North Queensland in the chasing field.

The gap is meaningful – but in Shield, a final day of five games can rewrite everything.

⭐ Day 2 Individual Highlights

After his impressive run at the Junior Australian Masters, South Queenslander Tyler Clarkson continues to be one of the standout performers of the Champs. Sitting second in the male All-Star race, Clarkson has posted a 9-4-1 record from 14 games at an average of 217.9, with a high game of 257.

Victorian Flynn Slade has been quietly crucial to everything Victoria 1 have built across the first two days. Winning 85.7% of his matches for a 12-2 record and averaging 210.9 over 14 games, Slade sits third in the male All-Sar race and has been one of the most consistent performers in the boy’s division.

The moment of the day came courtesy of Blayden Herewini (VIC2), the New Zealand draftee carried a perfect game through the first ten frames of the opening game of the session before narrowly falling short of what would have been the first 300 of the Championships – finishing on a brilliant 289.

Stephanie Jarrott continues to lead the female All-Star race and has not missed a single game across the two days. Bowling all sixteen games to a 14.2 record at an average of 200.8, the Victorian remains the benchmark in the girl’s division.

Bella Westlake has been near-faultless for South Queensland. Boasting a 13-3 record and a high game of 268 in the fifth game today, the South Queenslander is averaging 193.9 – doing everything she can to haul the defending overall champions back into contention.

Elouise Cocks – the newly crowned Australian Junior Masters champion continues to make her presence felt, sitting fourth in the female All-Star race with a 13-3 record, a 185.3 average and a high game of 247. Her Masters final opponent Emily Starkey sits third after another strong Shield Day, also averaging 193.9 – the pair locked together in the standings just as they were on finals day.
