Five games. Three titles. After two days of fierce team competition, the 52nd TBA President’s Junior Shield came down to a final day that went down to the wire. Here is how it all unfolded.

🏆 Overall Champions – Victoria 1
Victoria 1 is the 2026 TBA President’s Junior Shield Overall Champions!
The Victorians arrived at the final day having led the overall standings from the opening session, and they held their nerve when it mattered most – finishing with 187 points in total, built from 98.5-point contribution from their boys and 88.5 from their girls.
This is Victoria’s 14th Overall Shield title and their first since 2019 – a seven-year wait that made Saturday’s celebration all the sweeter.
👦 Male Division Champions — South Queensland
The boy’s title was always going to go to the wire – and it did not disappoint.
Heading into the final day, just 1.5 points separated Victoria 1 at the top from South Queensland in second, and that gap had barely shifted by the time the 21st and final game arrived. After Game 20, Victoria held 96 points to South Queensland’s 94.5 – and in a twist, the final round was positional round – meaning – they would face each other for the title.
One final game. Winner takes the title.
Both teams split the individual points evenly – two wins and a draw a piece, worth 2.5 points each – meaning the two bonus points for their total pinfall would decide the male division champions. Victoria finished the game with 1,026. South Queensland posted 1,033. Seven pins. That was the margin. South Queensland claimed the pinfall bonus, won the match, and snatched the male title from Victoria’s grasp in the final moments of the Shield.
South Australia rounded out the podium in third.
This is South Queensland’s 13th male division title – and their second consecutive, following their boys crown in 2025. Back-to-back in the male division, and they did it the hard way.
👧 Female Division Champions — Victoria 1
Victoria 1 is the 2026 TBA President’s Junior Shield Female Champions!
While the boys title went to the final game, the girl’s division told a different kind of story – one of quiet, sustained dominance from the first ball to the last.
Victoria 1 arrived at the final day with a 12-point cushion over South Queensland, and they never looked like surrendering it. Relentless across all three days, the Victorian girls simply did what they had done since the opening session – win their matches, protect their lead, and give the chasing pack no way in. South Queensland pushed but could not close the gap.
Victoria finished on 88.5 points, with South Queensland 12 points back on 76.5 and South Australia rounding out the podium in third on 73.5.
This is Victoria’s 9th female division title in the President’s Junior Shield – and their first since 2023. Combined with the boy’s podium finish, it was a Shield campaign Victoria’s girls can be enormously proud of.
