International Women’s Day 2025 – Accelerate Action

On this International Women’s Day, Tenpin Bowling Australia proudly celebrates the remarkable women who have shaped our sport.

From talented athletes and dedicated coaches, managers, and tireless volunteers, women have played a vital role in the growth and success of Tenpin Bowling across Australia.

International Women’s Day (IWD) is marked annually on March 8. IWD is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women whilst calling to action for accelerating women’s equality.

We honour their passion, resilience, and achievements, and we remain committed to fostering an inclusive environment where women can continue to thrive and lead in our sport.

At Tenpin Bowling Australia, we are dedicated to creating a sport where everyone, regardless of gender, can participate and succeed. This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the incredible contributions of women in tenpin bowling and reaffirm our commitment to supporting their involvement at all levels – on the lanes, in leadership, and within our community.

This year, the IWD 2025 campaign theme is ‘Accelerate Action’.

At the current rate of progress, it will take until 2158, which is roughly five generations from now, to reach full gender parity, according to data from the World Economic Forum.

Yet, collectively, we can all work to #AccelerateAction for women worldwide and one of the best ways to forge gender equality is to understand what works and to do more of this, faster.

We can all challenge gender stereotypes, call out discrimination, draw attention to bias, and seek out positive action.
