Two days of fierce competition across fourteen championship squads have set the stage for some of the most anticipated days on the junior bowling calendar. Monday, 13 April brings Cup Finals Day to the 2026 Australian Junior Championships, with the TBA Junior Restricted Cup and TBA Junior Classic Cup both reaching their conclusion.

Two distinct finals, two separate fields, and four champions to be crowned – one boy and one girl in each event. Here is everything you need to know about today’s action.

TBA Junior Restricted Cup

The Restricted Cup is a handicap event, giving junior bowlers across the lower average bands a genuine shot at glory on an equal footing. Open to bowlers averaging Boys 169 and under and Girls 159 and under, the cup rewards consistency and composure as much as raw pinfall.

Qualifying took place across the weekend’s championship squads, with bowlers nominating their best three-game singles or doubles series – handicap included – as their qualifying attempt. From those efforts, the top 16 boys and top 16 girls have earned their place in today’s final.

The final sees all 16 qualifiers in each division bowl eight games in blocks of two, rotating lanes after each block. At the conclusion of eight games, the boy and girl posting the highest scratch pinfall plus handicap will be declared champions.

Check-in closes at 8:00AM for an 8:30AM start. Any qualifier not checked in by that time will be replaced by the next highest reserve.

Number 16 ranked Madelyn Weller is OUT of the Restricted Cup and replaced by reserve Lily Watson (108) – 603 qualifying score.

Past Champions – TBA Junior Restricted Cup

The Restricted Cup has been shaping junior careers since 1995. Several of its past champions have since gone on to represent Australia at senior level, a testament to what this title can mean for a young bowler’s trajectory.

TBA Junior Classic Cup

Where the Restricted Cup levels the playing field through handicap, the Classic Cup is a straight scratch contest – the highest pinfall wins, full stop. Open to bowlers averaging Boys 189 and under and Girls 179 and under, it is one of the most prestigious scratch titles a junior bowler below the Open grade can claim.

As with the Restricted Cup, qualifying was drawn from the best three-game singles or doubles scratch series bowled across the weekend. The top 20 boys and top 20 girls advance to the final, where the same eight-game block format applies – two games at a time, lane rotation after each break – with the highest scratch pinfall at the end of eight games deciding the champions.

Check-in closes at 12:30pm for a 1:00pm start. Any qualifier not checked in by that time will be replaced by the next highest reserve.

The Classic Cup has produced some of Australian junior bowling’s finest scratch performances since its inception in 2000. The roll of honour below reflects a competition that has consistently elevated ambitious junior bowlers and pointed them toward the next level.
