PABO 2026 Finals set for this weekend in Melbourne

The stage is set for the 2026 Pro-Am Bowling Open, with the PABO Finals taking place this weekend at The Keys Leisure Centre in Preston, Victoria.

Offering Australia’s largest individual bowling purse, the event will bring together 100 qualifiers from across the country to compete for the $15,000 first prize on Saturday, 1 August and Sunday, 2 August.

The field consists of 80 Victorian qualifiers and 20 bowlers who secured their places through the PABO Tour qualifiers held across Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania.

Saturday – The Top 100

Competition begins on Saturday, when the 100 qualifiers will contest a three-game series across three separate squads.

The top 32 bowlers based on total pinfall will advance to Sunday’s finals, where the tournament moves into a progressive knockout format.

Sunday – The Top 32

Sunday’s competition begins with eight groups of four bowlers in the Round of 32.

Throughout the day, competitors will progress through group rounds, elimination matches and head-to-head contests before the field is reduced to the final two bowlers.

The Championship Match will be decided over one game, with the highest scorer crowned the 2026 PABO Champion and collecting the $15,000 major prize.

The final eight will be broadcast live from 4:00PM AEST on Sunday, 2 August, with Australian bowling great Jason Belmonte joining the commentary desk.
