What?
The National Rankings System is a competitive framework designed for bowlers across Australia, spanning multiple divisions: Grand Senior, Seniors, Adult, Youth, Junior, and Inclusion. It utilises a points-based system to rank players based on their performance in major national tournaments. This system emphasizes fairness, challenge, and the spirit of competition, providing a clear pathway for athletes to gauge and elevate their performance on a national scale.

Why?

The purpose behind establishing a National Rankings System is multifaceted. It aims to:

• Foster a competitive environment where bowlers can measure their skills against the best in the country.
• Provide a transparent and fair system that rewards consistency and excellence in major tournaments.
• Encourage participation in national events, thereby elevating the overall standard of the sport in Australia.
• Offer a structured progression path for bowlers aspiring to transition from local league competitions to national and potentially international arenas.
• A key tool used for selections for High Performance teams.

Who?
Participation is open to all TBA members, and to receive ranking points at ranked event for your performance, all you need to be is a complete Silver member at least 24 hours prior to the event commencing.
The National Rankings are open to bowlers from various divisions:

How?
To compete in the National Rankings:
-Bowlers must first ensure they are registered as Silver members
-Athletes then compete in designated major national tournaments, with their performance in these events determining their ranking points.
-Points are awarded based on a fixed table, considering only the best performances in specified events plus major cups and masters tournaments.
-Rankings are updated within 48 hours of a ranked event concluding.
-Ranking points reset on January 1st each year, ensuring a fresh start and continuous competition.

When?
The National Rankings System operates on an annual cycle, with points accumulated throughout the calendar year. All points are reset on January 1st, marking the beginning of a new competitive season. Ranked events are scheduled throughout the year, offering multiple opportunities for bowlers to participate and improve their standings.

Where?
Ranked events take place across various prestigious venues in Australia, chosen for their facilities and ability to host national-level competitions. Detailed Ranked Event information can be found by clicking the event hub located within the relevant division webpage link on this page.

Bowlers wishing to be ranked must be current silver registered members.  Rankings points will only be recorded for bowlers competing in a ranked event if they were current financial silver registered members before bowling their first ball in that ranked event.  Please note that a silver registration consists of a league/junior membership + Silver Upgrade.

Below are the approved dates for all states and territories to conduct state championships and state team roll-offs for juniors, youth, adults, and senior bowlers. States may use any of the approved dates either for state championships or for roll-offs.
