Tenpin Bowling Australia (TBA) has refreshed the oil pattern bank for national ranked events in 2025, bringing a new challenge to competitors across multiple divisions.
It’s been several years since the pattern bank was last updated, and this change aims to provide a fresh approach to lane conditions for ranked events this year. The updated bank applies to the Junior, Youth, Women’s, Open, and Inclusion divisions, while the Senior and Grand Senior divisions will continue to use their existing pattern bank.
The new oil pattern bank is categorised into three lengths—short, medium, and long—and features patterns named after Australian animals for easy reference. The first event to roll out the update was the Wyncity Youth Cup, where competitors faced the TBA Possum long pattern.
