Masters Crowned to Close the 2025 National Disability Championships

The curtain has come down on the elite competition of the 2025 National Disability Championships, with three incredible bowlers crowned National Masters Champions at Zone Bowling Morley in Western Australia.

Congratulations to:

• 🥇 Pino Mascetti (VIC) – Open Masters Champion
• 🥇 Josh Powell (WA) – Classic Masters Champion
• 🥇 Nathan Pye (ACT) – Restricted Masters Champion

Each division offered something different — Open (scratch), Classic (handicapped 120–159 average), and Restricted (handicapped, <120 average) — but all three showcased remarkable talent and determination. Congratulations to all bowlers!

Open Masters – Pino Powers to Victory

After making headlines last year with the first 300 game in State Team Challenge history, Pino Mascetti delivered again — this time, claiming the Open Masters title.

Pino topped the eight-game roll-off with a commanding 1,656, ahead of NSW’s Jared Kirkland (1,581) and fellow Victorian AJ Jamal (1,550). In the stepladder, AJ downed Jared in the semi before Pino took care of business in the final, 196–149.

Classic Masters – WA Clean Sweep in the West

It’s been 15 years since WA hosted the National Disability Championships — and local bowlers made sure to make it memorable. In the Classic Masters, the host state claimed all three podium spots.

Josh Powell led the way in the roll-off with 1,947, followed closely by Owen Thomas (1,900) and Timothy Watts (1,847). Owen defeated Timothy 231–184 in the semi-final before a nail-biting final saw Josh edge Owen by just one pin — 241 to 240 — to take the title.

Restricted Masters – Nathan Pye Holds His Nerve

In the Restricted Masters, it was ACT’s Nathan Pye who produced the goods when it mattered most. After finishing 3rd in the roll-off (1,799), Nathan went on a tear — defeating Aimee Smith (211–208) and top seed Tracey Stevenson (194–179) to force a repechage final.

In the rematch, Nathan stayed composed and delivered a 230–208 win to claim the national title.

Tonight, bowlers will swap their bowling shoes for dancing shoes at the Championship Celebration Dinner — a chance to relax, reflect, and party with new friends and old rivals alike. 💃🕺
