Queensland & New South Wales Capture Titles on State Team Challenge Day

The energy was electric at Zone Bowling Morley yesterday as all states and territories across Australia went head-to-head in the 2025 State Team Challenge Day, featuring two of the most prestigious team events in the National Disability Championships — the Michael Cooke Memorial Shield and the Cole Cup Challenge.
With fierce competition and team pride on full display, it was the State of Origin rivals, Queensland and New South Wales, who rose to the top, each claiming victory in one of the two marquee events.
The Michael Cooke Memorial Shield
The Michael Cooke Memorial Shield is a scratch event, showcasing elite-level competition without the use of handicaps. It’s a true test of skill, consistency, and teamwork.
In a thrilling finish, Queensland secured their second consecutive title, holding off a determined South Australian squad by just one point.
Congratulations to all bowlers, coaches, officials, and supporters who contributed to another outstanding edition of the Michael Cooke Memorial Shield.
Cole Cup Challenge
The Cole Cup Challenge levels the playing field using a handicap scoring system, allowing bowlers of varying averages to compete evenly — and making for some nail-biting matchups.
This year’s edition came down to the wire, with New South Wales edging out Queensland by just 1.5 points to claim the title.
Huge congratulations to everyone involved in the 2025 Cole Cup Challenge — a day full of great bowling, high spirits, and close competition.

Attention now turns to the final day of championship squads, which also marks the last chance for bowlers to qualify for the Masters.
