Bowlers in New South Wales (NSW) and South Australia (SA) will hit the lanes this weekend to commence their 2023 State Championship events.

The State Championship events will commence this weekend at their host venues and are scheduled to run over the next few weekends.

The month of February marks the time when several states and territories will commence their State Championships. Victoria, North Queensland, South Queensland, and NSW Disability State Championships are all set to occur. Contact your local state or territory association for more details.

Tenpin Bowling Australia wishes the best of luck and high scoring to all bowlers competing in these events.

NSW State Championships and Masters

The 2023 NSW State Championships will run over three weekends at Shellharbour Tenpin Bowl, Barrack Heights (4,5,11,12,18,19/2/2023).

“We are looking forward to holding the event in Shellharbour,” said TBANSW Chairperson Adam Gillett.

“It’s great to be able to take it to a regional location and have the support of the bowlers from across the state as well as the proprietors.

“Janet and the team at Shellharbour are excited we’ve given them the opportunity to host and hoping to put on a great event that all will enjoy” add Gillett.

Entries have been strong and well received by not only the locals and Sydney bowlers but also from the Central Coast and Newcastle regions.

“TBANSW would like to thank all the bowlers and their families who are already scheduled to bowl for supporting this event, your state association and the Shellharbour who have supported us with their commitment to host the event,” said Gillett. “Good luck and high scoring to all participating across the next three weekends”.

There is still time for those who wish to bowl to put in entries for the 11th and 18th subject to availability.

SA State Championships

The 2023 SA State Championships will run over two weekends at Bowland Salisbury, Salisbury East (3,4,5,11,12/2/2023).

“We are very excited to get the State Championships underway this weekend,” said SA Tournament Director Lyn Alexander.

“It starts tonight with the Opening Ceremony and the Mawson Lakes Hotel Trios event.

“Each team has a junior, adult, and senior bowler, bowling together and is a great way for all the generations to celebrate the start of the Championships” added Alexander.

Numbers are looking good for the event with plenty of sponsors jumping on board to support.

“We would like to thank our sponsors, Mawson Lakes Hotel, Sarahs Simple Sweets, S3 Woodcraft, Johnson Flooring Contractors, and of course the wonderful Bowland Salisbury” explained Alexander. “A random draw will be conducted before each Squad with Sarah’s Simple Sweets and S3 Woodcraft providing cupcakes and timber platters to the lucky winners”.

Entries will be accepted until 5 minutes before the start of any squad subject to squad availability.
