TBA Celebrates Volunteers Who Connect Communities

National Volunteer Week (19–25 May 2025) is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering, and Tenpin Bowling Australia is proud to join the nation in recognising the incredible people who give their time to help our sport thrive.

This year’s theme, “Connecting Communities,” celebrates the power of volunteering to bring people together — and in bowling, that spirit is evident in every centre, league, and tournament across the country.

From the city to the outback, volunteers are the heart of tenpin bowling. They’re the league organisers, event scorers, team managers, youth coaches, inclusive sport champions, and community leaders who make it all happen — often behind the scenes and always with passion.

As part of the week, the Australian Sports Commission is calling on all Australians to give 3 Cheers for Volunteers and help put them on the map. You can join in by nominating a local bowling volunteer and exploring the stories of those who connect communities through sport at 👉 www.volmap.gov.au

“Volunteers are the heartbeat of our sport. They don’t just keep bowling running — they bring people together,” said National Bowling & Operations Manager Nathan Stein. “This week is a chance to thank them, celebrate their efforts, and remind everyone how vital they are to the sport.”
