TBA21 National Teams Challenge – Doubles Event Wrap

The third event of the 2025 TBA21 National Teams Challenge has wrapped up at the AGL National High Performance Centre on the Sunshine Coast, with Northern New South Wales and South Queensland claiming top honours in the doubles format.
In this event, athletes paired up to bowl six games each, with combined pinfall determining the final standings.
Female Division
South Queensland’s Tamika Pettigrew and Bella Westlake were dominant in the female doubles event, taking home gold with a combined pinfall of 2,215.
Pettigrew continued her standout tournament after winning singles gold, averaging 200 across her six games. Westlake backed it up in style, rolling the two highest games in the division—236 and 227—as part of her own pair of 200+ games.
North Queensland’s Emily Starkey and Chloe Piffero claimed silver on 2,086, with Starkey backing up her own strong singles campaign. Northern NSW’s Brooke Buckingham and Samantha Clifton rounded out the podium in third with 2,070.
Male Division
It was a powerhouse performance from Northern NSW’s Blake Walsh and Jackson Buckingham, who blitzed the field to win male doubles by a staggering 284 pins.
Walsh was red-hot from the jump, delivering six straight 200+ games to average 225.7 (1,354 total), while Buckingham chipped in with three 200+ scores of his own and a total of 1,191 (198.5 avg). Their combined score of 2,545 was never in doubt.
The battle for silver came down to the wire. Victoria 1’s Seth Gray and Trent McDougall surged with a final-game 449 to jump from third and finish on 2,439—just ahead of North Queensland’s Blayde Christensen and Connor Raines, who settled for bronze on 2,405. Gray and Raines adding this medal to their singles gold from yesterday.
