In a strategic move to ensure continuity and maintain momentum, Tenpin Bowling Australia (TBA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ryan Edgar as the Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. This decision comes in the wake of Rohan O’Neill’s departure from the role.

Ryan Edgar, a respected member of the tenpin bowling fraternity from Brisbane, Queensland, brings to TBA a wealth of experience from his leadership roles within government and a profound connection to tenpin bowling, currently bowling at Logan City Tenpin. Ryan is well-regarded for his strategic thinking, management capabilities, and his dedication to the sport.

Upon accepting the appointment, Ryan Edgar shared his enthusiasm and vision for TBA, stating, “I am honoured to accept the position of Interim CEO at Tenpin Bowling Australia. It is a privilege to serve the Australian tenpin community in this capacity. I am fully committed to supporting our grassroots initiatives, collaborating with states and territories, enhancing our elite programs across all age groups, and engaging with our stakeholders. Together, we will navigate this period of transition and lay down a robust foundation for the future of our beloved sport.”

Hish Fernando, Chair of TBA, expressed confidence in Ryan’s ability to lead the organisation during this pivotal time, noting, “Ryan Edgar embodies the spirit of tenpin bowling through his passion and dedication to the game. His strategic insight, coupled with exemplary leadership skills, positions him as the perfect fit to guide TBA during this transition. We are confident in Ryan’s ability to steer TBA towards a bright and stable future, and also note his background in technology which is a welcome addition as we aspire towards digital transformations in the sport.”

With Ryan Edgar stepping down from the Board of Directors to assume his new responsibilities as Interim CEO, TBA is currently in the process of identifying suitable candidates to fill the casual vacancies on the Board. An announcement regarding the appointment of a new director will be made in due course. This ensures a seamless transition and continuity in TBA’s leadership and governance.

TBA is excited for the new perspectives and leadership Ryan will bring to the organisation and looks forward to working closely with him to further the growth and success of tenpin bowling in Australia.
