We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Don Lindsay, the former Head Coach of the NTS Open and Open Team Australia squads.

Don’s commitment and passion for our sport and community were extraordinary. His leadership and dedication as head coach guided and inspired countless athletes to achieve their best and embody the spirit of teamwork and resilience.

His coaching philosophy extended beyond the lanes, with an innate desire to invest in the growth of his athletes as people, not just competitors. Recently stepping down from his coaching duties due to health battles, we are so grateful for his contributions and knowing he lived out his dream in time.

As Don said upon stepping down, “I’ve reached my lifetime goal as the head of coaching Team Australia in this amazing sport, while hopefully helping others grow as people, not just athletes. I always say I coach people—bowling is just what we happen to do.”

We extend our deepest condolences to Don’s family and loved ones. His memory will forever inspire, and his impact on Australian Tenpin Bowling will never be forgotten.

Rest in peace, Don. You will be dearly missed.

If you have the capacity to donate some funds to help support Don’s beautiful wife of 45 years Shirley through the hardest chapter of her life, the Lindsay Family would be eternally grateful. Even a few dollars will make an enormous difference as mum navigates this great loss, the love of her life being taken far too soon. We understand things are tight for everyone and would be truly grateful for even the smallest donation to ease some of mums burdens.
