He may not seek the spotlight — but Bruce Jefferson from Victoria absolutely deserves it. 🙌
A proud Victorian, Bruce is one of the most approachable, selfless volunteers you could ever meet. A genuine person who deeply cares for the bowlers in the sport he has loved for over six decades—Bruce Jefferson deserves to be highlighted!
A bowler since 1963, Bruce has always put his hand up to help people. While he’s never sought recognition, his impact on the sport has been immense — and deeply appreciated by those who know him.
The spirit of selflessness has defined Bruce’s decades of involvement. Whether it’s behind the lanes, in association boardrooms, or distributing TBA pin awards, Bruce has always raised his hand to help.
What does volunteering mean to you?
“It’s all about being able to give something back to the bowlers, for what the sport has given to me” explained Bruce. “I expect no fuss, and I am not a volunteer for the recognition”.
What sort of things you do as a volunteer in the sport?
- President of the High Rollers league at Zone Bowling Forest Hill
- UTBA Treasurer for approximately 25 years, supporting one of the key metro bowling associations in Victoria
- TBA Accredited Lane Measurer for over 30 years, completing work across Victoria, ACT, New South Wales, and the Northern Territory.
- TBA Award Processor and Distributor – where over the past five years alone, Bruce has issued and posted 114,683 pin awards to TBA members across the country
Bruce has provided a lifetime of service to the sport of tenpin bowling. From grassroots leagues to national operations, Bruce has helped strengthen every level of the sport.
