Qualifying Complete at the 25th MILO Storm U22 International – Final Weekend Awaits!

Qualifying has officially wrapped up in Malaysia, with the Australian Youth High Performance Squad well placed heading into an exciting weekend of finals action at Sunway Mega Lanes.
Across the week, the Aussies have adapted to conditions, built consistency, and showcased their skills on the international stage. With qualifying now complete, the lanes reset and attention turns to the Open Masters Finals, where pressure and opportunity increase.
A total of eight Australians (five boys and three girls) has qualified for the Open Masters Finals.
Qualifying scores were determined from six games, using each bowler’s best two three-game qualifying squad series. Based on finishing positions, bowlers will begin their finals campaign in either Round 1 or advance directly to Round 2, with several Australians progressing into finals contention.

Saturday 13 December
5:00PM AEST – Open Final Round 1
Below is a summary of who will qualify for Round 1 of the finals.

The boys’ division will see 33 bowlers compete with the Top 18 advancing to the second round.

Round 2 will see both divisions complete 10 games.
The boys’ division will see 30 bowlers compete with the top 4 advancing to the next stages.
The girls’ division will see 24 bowlers compete with the top 4 advancing to the next stages.
3:00PM AEST – Open Finals Round 3 & 4
Round 3
The 4th, 3rd, and 2nd position bowlers from Round 2 will bowl one game. Highest pinfall will proceed to Round 4. 2nd highest pinfall to take 3rd position and the lowest pinfall to take 4th position.
Round 4
The 1st placed bowler from Round 2 and winner from Round 3 will meet in the Finals. The Finals will be held on a 1+1 game format. If the top placed bowler wins the 1st game, they shall be declared as champion. Should the winner from Round 3 win the 1st game, there would be a ‘sudden death’ play-off on 1 game. Whoever wins this game shall be declared champion.

Boy’s Open
Australia has five representatives in the Boys Open Master Finals. Congratulations guys!
- Jake Sayer – finished highest of all the male Aussies in 3rd place in the Overseas Qualifiers pool – will advance straight to Round 2 that begins on Sunday.
- Seth Gray-Pendlebury – finished 9th in the Overseas Qualifiers pool – will begin Finals in Round 1
- Connor Raines – finished in 6th place in the mixture pool (local and overseas) – will begin finals in Round 1
- Joshua Buttigieg – finished in 9th place in the mixture pool – will begin finals in Round 1
- Kohan Davis – finished in 14th place in the mixture pool – will begin finals in Round 1
Girl’s Open
Australia has three representatives in the Girls Open Master Finals. Congratulations girls!
- Emily Starkey finished highest of all the female Aussies in 8th place in the Overseas Qualifiers pool – will begin finals in Round 1
- Jasmine Walker finished 3rd in the mixture pool (local and overseas) – will begin finals in Round 1
- Vanessa Hannigan finished on top of the Desperado squad to gain the final place in the girls final – will begin finals in Round 1

Brisbane is 2 hours ahead of Malaysia. These AEST have been placed within this update.
